Degree with 5+ years’ experience managing buyers focused on medical devices, metals, plastics, and/or surgical products required. 25% travel. Very strong relocation package offered.
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for a variety of supply chain initiatives at the company – Surgical Division including but not limited to:
- Manages a team of supply chain professionals in the strategic and tactical purchasing of materials, products, and services to support Operations in meeting customer demands.
- Leads assessment of purchasing needs
- Utilizes lean manufacturing principles to manage all aspects of the inventory planning functions, and Inventory working capital to achieve best in class inventory turns. Specifically leads inventory management efforts to reduce shortages and inventory levels globally. Works cross-functionally on complex matters involving inventory costs and audits. Minimizes inventory obsolescence
- Manages suppliers’ Quality, On-Time Delivery, and Cost and provides Supplier scorecards to drive improved supplier performance. Holds suppliers accountable
- Performs cost-benefit analyses to make informed decisions about materials and suppliers
- Coordinates requisitions, orders, and distribution of purchased materials, equipment and services
- Modifies processes and procedures for purchasing and inventory control to reduce waste and increase throughput
- Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions of large scope and complexity.
Staff duties:
- Responsible for employees regarding policies and procedures, discipline, interpersonal and teamwork opportunities
- Directs, coaches, mentors supply chain team. Performs annual performance evaluations and talent development of direct reports
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ Years work experience as a supply chain manager
- BS/BA in the supply chain, engineering, logistics or similar
- 7+ years’ experience in a Buyer role
- 3+ years’ management experience leading a team of buyers
- Travel requirement 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP system
- Experience with import/export operations
Experience in the medical device industry, specifically surgical equipment
