JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Operate pharmaceutical production machinery and follows the procedures for production such as weighing, blending, dispensing, mixing, storing, compressing, sampling, etc.
  • Prepare for production by reviewing production schedule; studying and clarifying specifications; calculating requirements; assembling and weighing materials and supplies
  • Prepare equipment by performing sterile cleaning-in-place, servicing-in-place, and cleaning out-of-place; conducting operator inspection; performing preventive maintenance checks
  • Produce requirements by operating and monitoring equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controls; calculating concentrations, dilutions, and yields; adhering to aseptic filtering and filing procedures.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by following current good manufacturing practices (cGMP), and standard operating procedures; complying with legal regulations; monitoring environment.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairs.
  • Document all activities of pre-production, production, and post-production by completing forms, reports, logs, and records of equipment and batches.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Sampling batches for quality testing. Executes required in-process product quality checks and documents accurately.
  • Perform a miscellaneous inventory of consumables to ensure proper stock
  • Coordinate with Pharmacist In Charge regarding production, deviations, and additional support and assistance on tasks and projects
  • Contribute to team and project success by sharing previously acquired knowledge
  • Perform all duties according to the SOPs and NAPRA/USP and all other safety standards and company policies
  • Operate, clean and sterilize aseptic compounding equipment and compounding areas
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the compounding areas
  • Maintain all required documentation and records required as per SOPs
  • Communicate and interact with other employees
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Training of other staff
  • Ensure all calculations on compounding log sheets are accurate and correct
  • Tracking, ordering and receiving orders of supplies
  • Follow all SOPs, double-check calculations, record compounding procedures, lot and expiry of ingredients
  • Coordinate with other pharmacy team members to compound preparations and execute quality assurance procedures, following standard operating procedures
  • Ensure all compounds are prepared in accordance with the master formulae and in accordance with proposed NAPRA guidelines, including USP<795>, USP<797>, and USP<800>
  • Responsible for inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of all laboratory equipment, instruments, utensils, and work surfaces necessary/required for the preparation(s)
  • Monitor and record inventory of chemicals, materials, consumables, and other required items
  • Cleaning of all work areas including work surfaces, equipment, floors, walls, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with other pharmacy team members to ensure smooth operation and timely fulfillment of compounded products.
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 year of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician required
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician Certificate –CPHT
  • ACPE approved Sterile Certification
  • Drug and background check required
